Speaker: Paul Triolo | Practice Head, Geotechnology @ Eurasia Group

Paul S. Triolo leads Eurasia Group's newest practice, focusing on global technology policy issues, cybersecurity, internet governance, ICT regulatory issues, and emerging areas such as automation, AI/Big Data, ambient intelligence, and fintech/blockchain. He is building a cross-issue and cross-regional team that helps clients understand and assess the risk generated by the complex intersection of politics, technology innovation, security threats, and the changing global regulatory environment.

Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Paul served in senior positions within the US government for more than 25 years, focusing primarily on China's rise as a science and technology (S&T) and cyber power. He provided analytic support to the president and senior policymakers, and was the lead drafter for a number of widely acclaimed national estimates on China S&T innovation and industrial policies, as well as cyberspace issues. Paul's technical background, including a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University and work experience in Silicon Valley, along with his extensive work on internet governance and policy issues in government, have prepared him to tackle the substantial challenges companies will face in cyberspace.

Paul is a China Digital Economy Fellow (non-resident) at New America. He is also an avid early adopter of all sorts of green and information technologies and platforms, and has been the family chief technology officer for some time.

Speaker: Louis L. Reed | Director of Organizing + Partnerships @ #Cut50

Louis L. Reed provides exemplary life coaching, reentry, and recovery-based services to individuals who need to mobilize their inner resources and tapping into the more significant potential to live a more purposeful life.

As the National Organizer for #Cut50, a coalition of directly impacted advocates to reduce crime and incarceration across all 50 states, Louis brings years of government, criminal justice expertise, policy advocacy, business, and public health.

Louis holds degrees in criminal justice and psychology and is a board-certified addictions counselor and licensed alcohol & addictions practitioner.

Before joining #Cut50, Louis was the Connecticut Policy Strategist for the Katal Center for Health, Equity and Justice, where he worked on SB-13, and ran his addiction and mental health practice in Bridgeport, CT, serving clients across Southern Connecticut.

Louis's experience in government includes conceptualizing and serving as director of the Mayor's Office for Reentry Affairs in the City of Bridgeport, CT. There, he developed systems and practices for the City to coordinate employment, housing, access to treatment, and other services for all persons impacted by the criminal justice system both in and returning to the City after incarceration.

His policy reform experience includes working with the Connecticut legislature to successfully enact legislation related to reforms to pretrial practices, expanding access to licenses for people living with criminal records, limiting asset forfeiture practices by law enforcement, and strengthening reentry practices and services for people returning from prison.

Louis is a Huffington Post contributor on Prison Traumatic Stress Disorder, has appeared on C-SPAN and MSNBC, and in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and other publications.

Errol Gerson has been teaching Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Business Management at Art Center for the past 45 years.

In that time he has taught over 6100 students and has personally mentored well over 3000 students.

Gerson received a BS in Accounting from USC in 1970, and after receiving his MBA from USC in 1971, he spent eight years at a Big 8 public accounting firm.

In 1979 he co-founded a CPA Business Management firm with three other USC grads, then sold it in 1992. Gerson co-founded Cow Interactive with four Art Center grads.

In 1999 he joined CAA Agency as the Director of New Media. In 2004 he left CAA and became the Principal at the Gerson Group, a Strategic Management Consulting company, where he is in practice today.

Errol is a Senior Adviser to the American Institute of Graphic Arts and does Entrepreneurship and Marketing workshops and seminars across the country.
